release, I breathe

I sit alone.
Among the breeze and swaying grass,
speckled with wildflowers.
It is what I need.
My soul is at peace, my mind is at war.
Release, I breathe.
The war rages on,
The endless temporary battle between good and hurt.
My soul is healed, it is beating with good.
It pours from my eyes, down my cheeks,
reaching my parched lips and nurturing my mind.
Release, I breathe.
The last line of sunshine creeps further from my space,
It’s comfort and warmth fading with the day’s light.
Release, I breathe
My space becomes bigger, warmth from memories,
plays through the blades of grass.
Dancing to their tune of hope,
testimony to the songs you have sung.
Release, I breathe.
May the breeze that flutters my hair and pages,
find your hurts and carry them away.
Bringing healing to your soul.
Release, I breathe.
It is beautiful to be alone,
among the breeze and swaying grass,
speckled with wildflowers.
It is what I need.
