The worst morning person ever...

This morning I awoke to Ian yelling, "SAM YOU ARE THE WORST MORNING PERSON EVER!!!" Now because my mind has a tendency to get stuck on something stupid I have been having these words going through my head all day which has brought about a few issues of discussion.
1) Why do we always associate not being a morning person with someone who wakes up grumpy?
2) What exactly is entailed with claiming someone as being the worst morning person ever?
3) and finally is it just me or are morning and night people capable of changing their most wakeful status during various phases of their lives?

Ok so lets break this down....
1) I was never a morning person but I on general am capable of waking up most mornings not grumpy (just do not talk to me till I have had my coffee.)

2) Since I happen to live with Sam who is now titled THE WORST MORNING PERSON EVER I feel that I can give my honest perspective on the matter. Sam is usually the first one up in the house, which in no means makes him the worst morning person. It is usually what he does as soon as his eyes are open that earned him that title. Once Sam has peed, while calling Hawthorne (our dog) admits his singing or humming extremely loudly, will proceed to collect one of his cars from his room and drive it down the hallway ALONG the wall sending out an amplified version of matchbox toy car racing. Once he has reached the living room he then decides to wrestle with the dog sending our huge dog bashing into furniture while Sam lets out squeals of delight at the top of his lungs. Turn the tv on and then turn the volume up cause he can't hear it over his wrestling match with the dog. About five min into the show he decides that he is lonely and will then proceed to drive his car back down the hallway and into the girls room to see if any of them wants to wake up now. Emma is usually his abiding companion and once she is up well Ian and I can kiss our semi sleep goodbye.
So yeah it is Sam's inability to allow anyone else to sleep past his point of awakening that makes him the worst morning person ever.

And 3) well I just think that we are all born one way and for the most part of life we really have to learn how to adapt to our surroundings whether we like it or not.

Oh and then we have the subject of dreams but we will save that for another night when Sam did not get us up before 6.
