Well Sam caught five fish (two of which were too small to keep and had to be released), Ian caught four fish and Scott broke his pole. Sam's face broke out in the biggest grin ever, once the realization hit him that he had caught more fish than Dad, then he tried to console Dad cause really he was, "only one fish away from being tied."
Sam was all about the fishing, once he figured out how it worked and what a caught line felt like he was unstoppable. Dad even showed him how to gut and clean a fish which sent Leah into the opposite direction overheard saying, "I am not catching no fish, cause I am not gutting no fish."
And for the rest of the stay Sam was found on the rock with his fishing pole and had to be pulled away whenever needed.
Alex had his go at it, Leah caught Ian at one point and Sam caught Hawthorne. Well actually Hawthorne tried to eat the cricket on Sam's hook and got Sam's hook caught in his lip, which sent Sam into a crying wail of, "it hurts get it out... ow ow" Really Sam it is not in your lip, it is in the dogs lip and we are getting it out so breath deep and do not watch since it is apparently so painful for you.
