Smiling on Fourth of July

So we have had a wonderful, fun filled red, white and blue days. It started with the jets flying overhead in the morning and Sam saw Grandma wave to him in the last one, but not to worry cause after they circled around her jet was catching up. The morning zooms were followed by a trip to the central park to watch the children's parade which Leah desperately wanted to be a part of since she now can ride a two wheeler. Sam was amazed at how many grand old flags there were (for some reason they always refer to the American flag as the grand old flag) except when Sam saw some for sell he asked how can they be grand old flags if they are new. Emma of course was not really into to anything except all the dog dogs which to her delight were wearing hankies around their necks making it that much easier for her to grab onto them as I am pushing her by.
We had a barbecue at our house then went out back to watch the fireworks. I took more pictures but Leah, who had gotten into pajamas, was going commando and lets just say in the dark you can not tell that you are taking shots of indecent exposure.
Then today we went to check out Bear Valleys July fourth events and then onto the lake for a swim. We had fun but are thoroughly exhausted and I just hope the kids sleep in tomorrow.
Waiting for the parade. I suppose Leah's expression says it all.

Her hair is her own firework show.

Watching the fireworks.

Leah was at first hesitant to go onto the dock cause she saw one that had sunk and this one looked like it was sinking too and she did not have her swimsuit on.

Wishing they had their fishing poles.

Sharing an icee.

Sam kept "drowning" and the "crabs" kept biting his feet. He thought it was funny. Me not so much.

The kids went swimming in the lake to cool down.

Emma wanted to get in the water but not necessarily touch it.

Happy fourth everyone. Hope you all had as much fun as we did.
