On the way to school this morning Sam asked if we could go get some ice cream today. Please keep in mind that the boy went sledding this morning in our back yard.
I responded with, "Sam tell me you are kidding, it is freezing outside. Please laugh to let me know that you are joking, right?"
His answer was, "So after we get the ice cream does that mean we can go to Magic Mountain and go to their water rides"
My head whipped around to see the cutest grin on his face.
I walked out into the living room to see that Emma had found a red maker and colored her lips, cheeks and hands.
"Emma what is on you face?"
She gave me a weird look as if to say, "What do you mean, the usual stuff is on my face, a nose, a mouth, some eyes....
"Emma what is on your hands?"
She looked down at her hands, as she is touching the evidence of inappropriate maker use, "Ummmm an A"
I just had to laugh as she totally by stepped the scolding that she knew was coming with an attempt to show off her writing ability.
On to other news I am pretty much done painting the girls room and I think that it looks good. The kids had a two hour school delay today which meant that 1) they went to school and 2)we had to drop off Leah before Sam and Sam school started at 12 which is usually when he is done. He thought the whole thing was weird and stated, "I do not think that today's school day counts cause it is all mixed up."
And now for the most tragic news of the day. I had half an hour to kill so of course Sam, Emma and I went to a thrift store where they informed me (brace yourselves) that a law was passed and they can no longer sell toys. Gone are the days of my kids getting that coveted toy for 50 cents instead of twenty dollars. It really is tragic and I am hoping that with many of the laws that are passed it will take a long time to for the news to get around and an even longer time for people to abide them. Emma could not even get the wooden puzzle that she had found, THEY confiscated it with an abrupt, "we can't sell this, it is not for someone over the age of 12." I will leave the response I wanted to give up to your imagination.
Well I am off to get my prune girl from the bath and go get the kids from school. Happy Tuesday
